School Captain
My name is Nero Rutherford, and I am truly honoured to be appointed as School Captain for Dalziel High School. I would like to sincerely thank both teachers and pupils for their faith in me, being entrusted for this role is a privilege that I do not take lightly and I promise to represent the school in the most positive fashion I can.
Firstly, a huge congratulations to the School Vice-Captain, Alex Smith, who I'm sure will do an outstanding job in her newly elected position. I look forward to planning a busy school calendar together, creating a fun and exciting year with our brand-new partnership. I'm also excited to work alongside all three house captains and their teams of officials, I’m certain that together we can have a very competitive series of competitions that everyone can enjoy, and I encourage you all to get involved as possible. Congratulations to all those who were elected!
Alex and I are dedicated to creating the best year possible for the entire school, and so I urge every pupil to get involved with the school at every chance they get. There are countless different events or clubs throughout the year, with each one being a path to discovering what its truly like to be a Dalzelian. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here at Dalziel High School, and now given the opportunity I strive to achieve yet another stellar school year. I hope success reaches every corner of the school, and that we can all make the most of our time at Dalziel by involving ourselves with every opportunity life presents.
Summa Petenda everyone!
Nero
Vice Captain
My name is Alex Smith, and I have been elected as this year’s School Vice-Captain for Dalziel High School. It has been both an honor and privilege to be chosen for this role, and I would like to thank every single person who believed in me. First, I want to congratulate Nero Rutherford, this year’s school captain. I know, together, we will be a great team and encourage all our fellow pupils to ‘aim for the highest’. I look forward to everything we will achieve throughout this year.
As this year’s School and School Vice-Captain, I am certain that together we will help plan a successful number of school events, including numerous church services, Christmas dances, and lastly, sixth year prom! We will also work alongside the 3 house captains, and their team of house officials, led by Eilidh Greenhorn, Callum Jenkins, and Olivia Thom. Huge congratulations to all those who have been elected as house officials. I am sure interhouse competitions will be as competitive as ever this year!
I have absolutely loved my time at Dalziel, and that comes down to all the opportunities I have been fortunate enough to be a part of over the years. I have been fully immersed in all school activities since first year, and it has truly shown me how proud I am to be a Dalzielian. I cannot wait to continue all the school events we know and love, as Dalziel really is a school like no other.
Going into my final year at Dalziel, I hope that this is a year that will never be forgotten. I encourage all pupils to get involved in every opportunity that comes their way and create memories that we will all cherish forever. Let’s make this year a year to look back and smile upon!
Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity, and I hope I make everyone proud!
Alex
