School Show
Our School Show “Bugsy Malone” will be performed in the school from Monday 9 October to Thursday 12 October.
Tickets are on sale now priced at £10 for an adult and £6 for a child. An order form has been attached to this bulletin and we ask that these are returned to the school office as soon as possible.

Developing the Young Workforce
We are delighted to announce that the school’s Developing the Young Workforce programme has won a national education award. Dalziel took top spot in the Inspiring Career Opportunity category at this year’s Community Education Awards.

The awards are an annual celebration and recognition of schools’ efforts to help children and young people become responsible community members.

Pupil Safety
Can I please remind all parents to take extra care while driving and parking near the school. With the large number of cars around the school each day we are concerned for the safety of our pupils. Please take extra care.

SQA Examination Results
Congratulations to our pupils who have worked very hard to achieve outstanding examination results. The results for the school have improved on previous years.

In S4, 65.1% of pupils achieved at least five National 5 Awards. This is our best ever performance in S4.

In S5, 27.6% of pupils achieved five Higher Grade passes, again this is our best ever performance. A record number of 12 pupils achieved 5 ‘A’ grade passes.

In S6, 44.6% of pupils achieved five Higher grade passes, this is an increase on the previous year and 25.4% of pupils achieved at least one Advanced Higher again this is our best ever performance.

Overall the SQA results are excellent and are a testament to the hard work of our pupils and staff.

School Uniform
We enjoy good support from parents in maintaining our school dress code and we are determined not to let standards slip. We will continue to insist that pupils come to school properly dressed and we ask for your continued support with this.
As a number of parents have generously handed in blazers to the school we may be able to provide blazers in some situations.

Option Choices
Pupils should have made final decisions by now about which courses they will study. If you have any concerns or questions about the subjects and levels your son or daughter is studying, please contact the school as soon as possible as the sooner we make any changes the better.
