Parental Update - 22.12.20

As we approach our Christmas holiday break we want to thank all pupils and parents in our Dalziel community for your continued support.

As a school we have tried to maintain our high standards of teaching and learning while remaining clearly focused on the health and wellbeing of our pupils and staff. The collective efforts of staff, pupils and parents are greatly appreciated in helping us work through such difficult times.

Following on from the announcement made by Scottish Government on Saturday 19th December please find updated information below.

A draft version of the school calendar (January - June 2021) is available now on the school website.

S5/6 Parents
S5/6 prelims have provisionally been moved to weeks beginning 18th January and 25th January. This may be subject to change. An updated prelim timetable has been posted on the S5/6 TEAMS page. We understand that this is a stressful time for pupils and we encourage them not to worry. We want to reassure all pupils that the school will support them in every way we can.

All Pupils
Arrangements for 6th/7th/8th January
A groupcall letter has been sent out by NLC to all parents and carers, notifying you of the criteria for key worker status. An application form must be submitted to NLC. Only pupils who fit the criteria and whose application has been approved by NLC can attend school on these 3 days. Pupils must not attend until this process has been completed.
All other pupils will officially be on holiday.

Arrangement for 11th - 15th January
Parents and carers, who fit the criteria for key worker status, must complete the application form provided by NLC. Only pupils approved through this process can attend school this week. Digital work will be provided on individual class TEAMS pages for all other pupils. During this week, pupils will be able to access work for the subjects they have each day in their Week 1 timetable. Pupils who attend school will access the same work as has been provided on each TEAMS page.

The booklet ‘Home Learning Guidance for Pupils and Parents’ is in the curriculum/digital learning section of the school website. This booklet contains guidance for pupils and parents on how to access work and homework on individual class Teams.
It can also be accessed through the link below:

Once again at this difficult time we thank our parents and carers for your continued support and wish you all a restful and happy holiday.
