This week at Dalziel we are celebrating World Children's Day which takes place on the 20th of November.
This is a moment for us as a community, along with schools across the globe, to come together to help build a world where every child is in school, safe from harm and can fulfil their potential.
It is the day when the most widely ratified human rights treaty in history, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child was adopted. It's a day to celebrate progress made for children, hold leaders to account on promises made to children and address the work that still needs to be done.
Our S6 pupils Michael Bolat, Abbie Lawson and Evie Cartwright have created a fantastic video to highlight what we can do as a school community to contribute to protecting the rights of the child. The video includes calls to action for the whole community, for example, a request for donations to the school foodbank. We look forward to seeing the impact our young people can make.
