Dalziel Park played host to the annual staff versus senior pupils football game last week. The first half started fairly even until Deane Brown scored the first goal followed by David Watson for a second, ending the first half 0-2 to the pupils.
The Senior Interhouse Quiz took place on the afternoon of Friday 9th October and was watched by a large audience of fifth and sixth years. After some fierce competition between the houses over many challenging rounds, Barclay emerged victorious with a total of 136 points.
The 2010 NQ Examination Timetable has now been published and is available to view online on the SQA Website. Both the PDF and Microsoft Excel files are available and list the examinations both by date and Course order.
The elections for the Senior Officials are now completed and the pupils are fulfilling their important duties in the school. Votes from both staff and pupils were combined, and the following pupils were elected over the past few weeks.
Our visitors from Italy spent an enjoyable time in the school last week sampling Scottish Cuisine. The pupils were treated to a slap up meal of Haggis, Neeps and Tatties prepared for them by the Hospitality and the Enterprise classes. The food was enjoyed by our visitors and pupils alike.
The school has once again had some success in the prestigious Glasgow Art Competition, with pupils gaining awards in the Silver, Highly Recommended, and Commended categories.
The RM ICT Tour Bus rolled into the school car park on April 28th, 2009 and was open from 10AM until 5PM. All parents of pupils at Dalziel and staff from schools in the local area, both primary and secondary, were invited to come along and join us for a hands-on experience with the technology of tomorrow.
This week, nearly one hundred pupils from S2 attended their first field trip with the Biology department. These pupils - who have just started their Standard Grade Biology course - carried out a series of activities with the park rangers to investigate the wildlife in Strathclyde Park.
The Choral Shield was held, in the Motherwell Civic Centre, on Tuesday 23 June and Wednesday 24 June. Greig Captain Craig Scott led his house to victory with an excellent performance. Congratulations go to all three houses, who each put on a great show.
