Last term the school hosted its annual Health Fayre, an important part of which was the visit by the Anthony Nolan Charity.
Running on a 2-year cycle, this is the third such visit to Dalziel. The 16+ age group, males in particular, are the most sought after group of potential members and previous visits have seen large numbers attend to register for the charity.
2018 was no exception with 88 volunteers opting to join. This is another magnificent achievement for those involved and demonstrates a willingness to help others.
Another request was also made to senior pupils to volunteer as Anthony Nolan Ambassadors. There was no shortage of volunteers and 6 were selected: Alexandra Anderson, Amy Cunningham, Laura Gray, Naml Iftikhar, Morgan Joyce and Abbie McQuade.
They were tasked with compiling a timetable and list of those pupils willing to join and on the day to meet them as they arrived to join the register.
This the 6 did admirably well, drawing praise from the Anthony Nolan staff. All were later presented with a letter of congratulation and the photograph is of the girls with the commemorative certificate presented to the school in recognition of its partnership with the charity.
